About the event

Have you ever wondered what the lines on those acupuncture charts and diagrams actually refer to? In this session you will not only find out the answers but you will have the opportunity to experience them yourself through the practice of Radiant Chi Kung Meridian Stretching.

The first part of the session will be a talk on the idea of the meridians in Chinese medicine and how they are used in medicine. Each meridian is named after and runs through an organ. There will also be an introduction to the general principles of Qi Gong (Chi Kung).

The second part of the session will be a Qi Gong (Chi Kung) class with each movement related to one of the 12 primary meridians and ending with 2 of the extraordinary meridians making 14 movements in total. Qi Gong (Chi Kung) exercise is gentle but powerful movement which is synchronised with the breath and mind. It is a potent and harmonious method for getting in touch with and cultivating ones own Qi or Energy flow. It is a foundational art for health and healing and one of the five main treatment methods of Chinese Medicine.

This class is suitable for participants at any level, from complete beginner through to regular practitioner. It will be a unique class that approaches this topic from many angles from the theoretical to the experiential. Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for light exercise and stretching.
