About the Event

Unleash your inner panda with the classic animated movie Kung Fu Panda! This beautifully realised film is a hilarious popcorn ride but it is also beloved for containing nuggets of real Chinese philosophy from Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism and wonderful elements of Chinese traditional culture. Join us for this FREE movie screening preceded by a short talk by Alex Jacobs introducing some of the elements of Chinese philosophy, martial arts and traditional culture that are interlaced through the film.

Learn what Kung Fu really is and how it is much more than just Martial Arts. Learn about how this idea permeates all of Chinese culture and how it can help you to be a healthier, more empowered, happier person. Find out about the symbolism of the animals of Kung Fu Panda, including Monkey, Crane, Mantis, Tiger and Snake. Learn about the mind-body training that it takes to be a true Panda master!

The film and talk are free but a £5 deposit is required to reserve your seat. It will be refunded when you arrive on the day so that we can guarantee every seat that is reserved is actually filled. There will be no refund for non-attendance.
