About the event
As the Summer starts to fade away and we once again enter Autumn, learn from the ancient Chinese wisdom how to adapt and thrive in the three months of this season.
In Chinese medicine it is understood that the body continually adapts to its environment. Learn what the qualities of Autumn are and what happens in our bodies as we go through the season. Even more than that in this class you will learn how to get the best out of this time of year for your health, happiness and vitality.
The class will be practical and hands on. You will get to understand the dynamics of Autumn, learn how to take care of yourself with food, drink and herbs, learn some simple Qi Gong exercise to harmonize the body and some self-acupressure techniques too.
The organs associated with the Autumn are the Lungs and Large Intestine. The Lungs are most closely associated with the breath and with the Qi energy. You will learn about Qi, how the Chinese really understood it and how to cultivate it yourself.
I am excited to announce that for the first time, I will be teaching the secrets of the 6 ‘SOLAR TERMS’ of the Autumn season. The Chinese calendar splits the year into 24 15 day ‘mini seasons’ called the Jie Qi or solar terms. Each season has 6 of these periods.
In this session you will not only learn about the energy dynamic of the Autumn in general, you will learn about each 15 day phase and how you can adjust the body to prevent disease and harness the energy to boost vitality. This is knowledge that is extremely rare to find in the West so book now to avoid missing out!
Join us for a fascinating expedition through the autumn and a fun friendly evening where you can meet other Chinese medicine enthusiasts! If you have any questions please contact Alex at alexjacobsacupuncture@gmail.com .
