About the event
In the Chinese Calendar the first day of Summer is the 6th of May. Summer is a time when ‘Yang’ energy reaches its peak and harnessing its energy can provide a foundation for good health all year round. The Chinese say in the Summer you can cultivate the vital Yang Qi. The element of Summer is fire and the organ is the heart. Learn how you can open your heart to life and the joy of this season.
This talk will take a look at the Chinese understanding of Summer and how its dynamic is mirrored in our bodies. The talk will explain how to synchronize the body with this Yang energy. It will cover both theory and practical tips for feeling your best during the season. These will include Chinese dietary therapy, herbs, acupressure and qi gong. There will also be some Summer based drinks and food on offer.
I am excited to announce that for the first time, I will be teaching the secrets of the 6 ‘Solar Terms’ of the Summer season. The Chinese calendar splits the year into 24 15 day ‘mini seasons’ called the Jie Qi or solar terms. Each season has 6 of these periods.
In this session you will not only learn about the energy dynamic of the Summer in general, you will learn about each 15 day phase and how you can adjust the body to prevent disease and harness the energy to boost vitality. This is knowledge that is extremely rare to find in the West so book now to avoid missing out!
No previous Chinese medicine knowledge is necessary. If you have any questions or have trouble booking through meetup, you can contact me directly at alex@daomedicine.com or on 07917610596.
